my 21st(: My 21st! it only comes once and marks my entrance into adulthood. haha, how cheesy. honestly, i dont feel too different, well, maybe a little. Namely, how I'm no longer a child, and have to be more responsible and accountable for everything silly thing i do. no more falling back on mom n dad for rescue from whatever scrapes i get myself into. haha. anyways, just for memories' sakes, i'd like to document everything tt happened leading up to and on my 21st(: I skyped with guanyou once i got back from class, being in the uk, the time difference was such that it was arnd 4pm for me, and close to midnight for him back in spore. we spoke for awhile, and then as he had a lot of readings to do, he did his readings while i chatted with friends, catching up with those close ones back in spore, like shing, shu(: he wished me a happy birthday. haha over skype, it was bittersweet, poignant in some way. cos i was sad to be so far away, and yet happy tt he made time to stay with me, despite the late hour and being so tied down with work. then at arnd 3am spore time, he went to bed. i stayed on chatting with shing n shu, then they too went to bed. I was searching for ear piercing locations, planning on going to bed early as i had no plans, when someone knocked on my door at arnd 11 plus. it was my friends! haha, ray, sam, jean, bryan, kenneth,po yew, olivia and desmond. they came to surprise me with cartloads of fooddd and a cake(: i was so happy to see them! and genuinely surprised(: they brought pizza, awesome spicy wings, smoked salmon to make canapes with rice crackers lemon n kiwi!, drinks, krispy kreme donuts frm london!. oh n ben n jerry's too(: i was so stuffed! they left at arnd 1am. it was such a nice n sweet time. n sam chose a nice purple dress from london's topshop for me(: it was similar to the grey one i wanted but they didnt have any grey ones left. but i like it a lot still(: olivia, my neighbour was so sweet too, she got me an earrings n necklace set n the loveliest card! oh ya n on my birthday morning, i woke up early, at 9am to meet gy for a skype meal(: it was 4pm for him so he had a waffle. haha. really sweet of him to arrange it. then at arnd 10 plus there was this ringing sound n my neighbours n i all thought it was some kind of strange fire alarm! haha! turns out it was the intercom n the postman had left a parcel for me! i went down to collect it and the lady at my hall's reception was so nice, she was gushing abt me getting flowers n i saw tt it was a huge box! with lovely black n white floral detailing. i told her it was for my birthday and she wish me n stuff(: n even told this random girl walking past tt it was my birthday n i got flowers! haha. i was so touched when i saw tt the flowers were from my family! i was skyping with my mom n tld her i just received it(: she was so excited to hear how it turned out! oh n i also received the cards my mom mailed to me n ray for our birthdays(: it's beautiful! really like it. with a big photo of me falconing(: more updates coming up1 blogged at 5:32 p.m. on 2009-10-20 |
